SILVER LAKE EXPERIENCE 2019 CHECK-IN DETAILS

The time is almost here for the 2019 Silver Lake Experience!! Here are some last
minute details to make your travel and check in as smooth as possible.
1. IF you are arriving on Thursday, August 8, 2019, registration check-in and
continental breakfast begin at 8:00 am @ Epworth Hall in Silver Lake
Institute. Opening remarks begin at 9:15. The first session of workshops
begin at 10 am.
There is on site registration during this time for people who have not pre-
registered
At check in you will receive your lanyard, schedule, a map, a tote with
information


PLEASE WEAR YOUR LANYARDS AT ALL TIMES-EVEN TO THE
CONCERTS-THAT’S YOUR TICKET TO GET IN


DIRECTIONS

Here are directions to Epworth Hall where you will check in.
These directions are from Buffalo or Rochester. Epworth Hall, 3943 Perry
Ave, Silver Lake, NY 14549


DIRECTIONS TO EPWORTH HALL, SILVER LAKE INSTITUTE:
PLAN ON AN HOUR AND 15 MINUTES FROM ROCHESTER


-TAKE 490 W TO LEROY EXIT.
-AT END OF RAMP, TURN RIGHT ONTO RT19 TOWARD LEROY
-FOLLOW RT 19 SOUTH THROUGH LEROY AND THROUGH PAVILION
-SOUTH OF PAVILION RT 19 VEERS RIGHT BY A CORN FIELD- DON’T TAKE IT!
-CAREFULLY STAY STRAIGHT CROSSING OVER RT 19 ONTO SILVER LAKE RD.
VISIBILITY OF ON COMING TRAFFIC FROM THE RIGHT MIGHT BE DIFFICULT
BECAUSE OF THE CORN FIELD
-CONTINUE STRAIGHT ON SILVER LAKE ROAD GOING UP THE HILL. AFTER
ABOUT 10 MILES, EVENTUALLY YOU WILL SEE A CEMETERY AND THE LAKE ON
THE FRONT RIGHT…
-WATCH YOUR SPEED..IT DROPS FROM 40 TO 30 VERY QUICKLY AND THEY
WILL GET YOU FOR A MILE OVER THE SPEED LIMIT.

-KEEP GOING STRAIGHT UNTIL YOU COME TO A “T”
TURN LEFT ONTO CAMP RD AND THEN A QUICK RIGHT ONTO PERRY AVENUE
TAKE PERRY AVENUE UNTIL IT ENDS AT A “T”. ON YOUR LEFT YOU WILL SEE A
LARGE WHITE BUILDING-THAT IS EPWORTH HALL. THERE WILL BE PEOPLE
THERE TO HELP YOU PARK.

WITH ABOVE DIRECTIONS


IF YOU ARE COMING FOR THE FIRST TIME ON FRIDAY OR SATURDAY:


Continental breakfast on Friday and Saturday is from 7:30 AM to 8:45 AM Check in
and on site registration is from 8-9AM. All check ins and registrations take place at
Epworth Hall.


FILL THE BOAT: SLE has established the tradition of supporting a local charity each
time. This year, SLE will be supporting the Wyoming County Community Action
Angels Food Pantry. We are inviting everyone involved with SLE to bring healthy food
choices to support children and their families in need in the Wyoming County. There will
be a boat in Epworth that we hope will be full by the end of our 4 day event. The
following are a few suggestions:


Fruits and Vegetables: Canned Fruits & Vegetables, Tomato products (such as sauces,
salsa, crush, whole, stewed or diced)
Proteins such as Nuts and Peanut Butter, Canned Meats, Fish, Stews or Soups, Dried
Beans or Canned Beans (Garbanzos go well)
Whole Grain Options: Cereal (low sugar / high fiber) Whole Wheat Pasta & Crackers,
various grains such as Quinoa & Brown Rice
Dairy: Parmalat, Dried Milk, Evaporated Milk, Calcium Fortified Milk Alternatives   
Any Healthy side dishes that are easy to prepare
Some Specialty Items that go fast: Condiments and Salad Dressings, Vegetable Oil,
Baking Products such as flour, salt, sugar, baking soda, etc
For Children:
Healthy Grab and Go snacks such as whole grain breakfast bars, fruit cups (packed in
juice), applesauce,  100% fruit juice

SILVER LAKE SEA SERPENT HISTORY SCAVENGER HUNT

A family fun game, follow the Sea Serpent map to 12 Sea Serpent locations. Over the 3-
4 days discover 12 historical facts about the area. Figure out the common link between
each historical fact and receive a Silver Lake Sea Serpent pin when you are done. Go
to Epworth Hall when you are finished. Directions and map will be included in your tote


THE EVENING CONCERTS

We have great entertainment lined up for you!!! This is all part of your daily
admission. For those not registered for the day, limited tickets will be available
starting August 5, 2019 or at the door.


THURSDAY 8/8 we begin at 6:30 with Pre concert desserts presented by the Glen Iris
Inn from Letchworth State Park. They will be serving blueberry and strawberry mousse
tartlets
Then at 7:30, sit back and enjoy the music of the Rochester Philharmonic Wind
Quintet

FRIDAY 8/9 get into the 1950s and 60s groove!!! First we will have an old fashioned ice
cream social and there will be several beautiful classic cars on Epworth lawn for photo
opps.
Then, get ready to rock to Ruby Shooz!!! A popular energetic group that croons to the
50s and 60s music! Come dressed in the times if you’d like!!! Be ready to have some
fun!!!!!

SATURDAY 8/10 will be time to get into your tie dye shirts and reminisce the good
ole days of the hippie era.. We start with desserts- beautifully decorated specialty
cookies.
Then, enjoy a blast from the past as The Old Hippies wow you with their sounds taking
you back to The Mammas and the Pappas, Crosby Stills and Nash, and many more!!!!
